In general, there are two types of automatic laying nests: nests with a tilting floor, and nests with a fixed floor and expel system.
With the Premium+ and the LayMaxx nest, we can offer both types for the Aviary systems. But which nest best meets your needs ? And which arguments to be considered making the right choice.

Premium+ nest
The Premium+ nest is originally developed for the breeder sector. In this sector the egg quality is very important because of the porosity of the egg-shell and the value of every hatching egg. The Premium+ nest guarantees first class (hatching) eggs and has the following qualities:

  • The expel system removes birds gently out of the nests
  • Perforated nest mat for optimal comfort and cleanliness
  • Clean nest environment with optimal protection of the eggs
  • The egg transfer from nest mat to egg belt is very gentle to keep the egg shell intact.

LayMaxx nest
The last decades poultry farms increased in size and a reduction in required labor became more important. JPE responded to this requirement with the development of the Laymaxx nest. This nest is easy to inspect: the floor is tilted to expel the hens and at the same time the red nest flap is rolled up for a good overview. It also offers the following unique features:

  • Short rolling distance from nest to egg belt
  • Open structure of the nest mat keeps nest clean and hygienic
  • High quality, high reliability and low maintenance costs

Conclusion:
Just as there are different types of poultry farms, there are different types of laying nests. The choice for either of both nests is mainly determined by the value of the end product in relation to the labor. The choice of a farmer who sells eggs from home or the choice of a large laying hen company with employees can therefore turn out differently. The starting point is always the design of the laying nest , it should match the needs of the laying hen. Think of the seating position of the hen, incidence of light and the position of the egg belt.
