Dutch Remijnse family

On Wednesday July 1st 2009, the Dutch Remijnse family opened the doors of their new poultry stables for organic pullets, located on the Paardenweg 4 in Kraggenburg, the Netherlands.

Unique housing system

In the new stable of 20 m x 70 m with 2 wintergartens of each 3.5 m width, they have chosen for the innovative Nivo Varia system.
What makes this housing system so unique, is the system, which provides feed and water, which “grows” with the development of the birds. Feed and water are being offered at different levels, during the rearing period, so the birds will learn to jump and fly criss-cross through the system.

The Nivo Varia system is equipped with special rearing slats. These slats, with a smaller mesh, provide an excellent support for the broilers.

Big advantage for the Remijnse family is, they have the birds on the required weight in 17 weeks and the flock of pullets are more uniform.

The company

Willem and Elly Remijnse switched their poultry farm to pullet rearing of organic pullets in 2004
The two poultry stables have a total capacity of 36,000 birds. Furthermore they have a cropping farm.
